My Dogs and I – #PetplanCares

Animals play a big part in my everyday life, what with 2 dogs, 4 cats and tropical fish, things can be somewhat manic in my little 2 up 2 down house….but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

In fact I’m trying to see if we can fit any more in!

Dogs especially can be a tie especially if you want to go out for long day trips, but I knew that when I got them and with 2 young children I’m pretty tied anyway so it didn’t pose too much of an issue…plus I can call upon friends and relatives to drop in if I am away from the house longer than anticipated.

A typical day in the life of my 2 dogs…

  • Eat breakfast as quickly as possible to make sure they can sniff around all the other bowls and patiently wait for them to be finished to finish and lick out the scraps.
  • Play with the little humansphoto 3
  • Nap timephoto
  • Walkies!  Best part of the day 🙂
  • Nap time
  • Play time with the little ones after school timephoto 5
  • Dinner…again the quicker they finish the better chance they have at scraps from the cats!
  • Nap time and snuggles with the big humanphoto 6
  • Treat and bed…one stays in the living room and the other sleeps at the bottom of the bed (one eye open for scary cats!)

Being a responsible dog owner you should consider doing a few things to ensure better safety and security when owning animals…

  • Yearly veterinary checks are a must and vaccinations should be at the top of your list.
  • Micropchipping, if the worst happens and your dog goes missing the first thing anyone will likely do is check the name tag, if they don’t have one then they’re likely to take to the nearest Vet for safe keeping and scanning of the chip to check ownership…do make sure you update these if you move!
  • Dog Insurance – Insurance really should be considered when owning animals, dogs especially as they tend to cost more when receiving treatment.  I have insurance with Petplan as they offered the best package for me.

We all have a special relationship with the dogs, they’re funny and cute and naughty in their own ways and I wouldn’t have it any other way…
