Gtech Air RAM K9 – Review

A house full of dogs and cats means it feels like I’m constantly on the other end of a vacuum, consequently I look for hoovers who are capable of picking up the endless amount of hair with no bother.

I was given the chance to test out the Gtech Air RAM K9 which is a cordless vacuum so I was keen to see how well it fared.

After about a 4 hours charge the Gtech Air RAM K9 was ready to go and I had a house full of animals air to vacuum up!

The first thing I noticed with the Gtech Air RAM K9 was how light it was, weighing in at just 3.8kg!!  But don’t let the weight and the fact that it’s cordless have you fooled…this is one hell of good vacuum and I had absolutely no trouble in vacuuming up the airs!  Like most vacuums and with the bigger clumps of hairs it takes a couple of goes over before it picks it all up, but generally it collects all hairs in one go.  It also didn’t struggle with bigger particles like cat litter (where as a previous well-known branded vacuum refused to pick up).

A really nice feature of the Gtech Air RAM K9 is the added scented lavender filter, what this does is whilst you are vacuuming away, the scent of lavender fills the air and where lots of pet odours can cling to the inside of regular vacuums, the added filter in this vacuum helps spread a much more pleasant smell.

The Gtech Air RAM K9 is compact and as said before very lightweight, you can carry this around with one hand and not have any cables in the way when carrying up/down the stairs.

Being compact, the bin is consequently quite compact too and I did find I was having to empty this per room.  However this isn’t really an issue as actually emptying the bin is a very straightforward process which literally takes about 10 seconds!

The Gtech Air RAM K9 doesn’t have any attachments so you do struggle to get into the tight corners and vacuuming the stairs is quite tricky although just about doable as the vacuum is so light.

How I plan to incorporate the Gtech Air RAM K9 into my daily household routine is that it’s now my upstairs vacuum!  It’s compact enough to be able to fit into a wardrobe and it means I don’t have to lug my much heavier vacuum up the stairs all the time (which previously meant my upstairs carpets didn’t get vacuumed as much as a result).  My bigger vacuum has the attachments for when I need to get into the trickier areas but it also means I have 2 vacuums at the most convenient places to help keep my floors clean and hair free!

Would I recommend the Gtech Air RAM K9?  Absolutely Yes!  I was skeptical at first as I thought a cordless wouldn’t be as powerful, but I was completely wrong and it’s as powerful as my Dyson.
