2014 travel predictions from Webloyalty
Always looking to plan ahead and find what other people are planning on doing for their holiday plans in 2014, I stumbled across a Holiday and Leisure Habits research piece from Webloyalty. The report showed some really interesting facts that have differed from last year.
Most notably, the number of people staying in the UK this year has fallen with more people planning on a beach holiday or city break…a better reflection of the current economic climate perhaps?
Webloyalty research states that 68% of people in the UK plan to take some sort of holiday or break this year. With the most popular choices being:
– Beach holiday abroad (26% of us are planning one of these)
– Day trips in the UK (20%)
– City break abroad (17%)
– Staycation in the UK (17%)
– Active holiday abroad (6%)
Holiday Irritations was an interesting read, in that just under 50% had something to complain about from their last trip. The biggest complaint was queues at the airport followed by lack of leg room on flights…with bad weather and hidden charges also mentioned. I don’t know about you, but when there’s bad weather, I’d rather be on the ground so no complaints here!
Reading the dream holidays section, unsurprisingly if money was no object the majority of people stated that they would take a round the world trip and I think I would have to agree!
Take a look at the report for the full findings 🙂
