A Day in Bude, Cornwall
Situated at the Northern end of Cornwall and close to Devon, Bude is a popular small beach resort for sunbathers and surfers alike, it’s easy to spend a whole day in Bude. There are a couple of beach options to choose from and likely to be based on the ability to park! They are Summerleaze and Crooklets and are situated next to each other so if you struggle to park at the Summerleaze car park, head further up to Crooklets where you will find a slightly larger car park and from there you can walk to Summerleaze if you want. Both beaches are predominantly sandy with some rock pools dotted around and are dog friendly.
Situated just outside of Bude you will find Widemouth Bay about 3 miles to the South and also Sandymouth Beach about 3 miles to the North of Bude, both have a long history of smuggling and shipwrecks, with the latter still home to part of a shipwreck which can be found at Menachurch Point.
Back to Summerleaze in Bude, you can also find Bude Sea Pool, which is a partially man made and is open all year round and free for all to use (although costs approx £40k to maintain and is run by a local group of volunteers, so donations are gratefully welcomed).
At both beaches in Bude there’s access to cafes and small shops and if you head into town, you’ll find small independent shops to browse along with well known shop chains like Costa, WHSmith and Sainsburys and more.

If a beach day doesn’t appeal, there are many activities to do in Bude or in close vicinity of the town, some will need to be booked in advance however so plan ahead. Some of the things you could do are:
