Accessible Travel For Wheelchair Users in the UK

Having access to places when in a wheelchair can prove difficult in some cases, however there are plenty of places in the UK where a wheelchair is simply not a problem and I think some may surprise you!  Mobility Nationwide has put together this great infographic on some of the accessible places you can visit around the UK.

I’ve highlighted a few that I think you’d like:

Schiehallion Mountain in Scotland

You can still bag a Munro!  I think this is a great thing, mountains are a great place to relax and find your thoughts and what better place to do it than in Scotland?

Edinburgh Castle

Sitting high above the city, you may think that a castle of this stature is in accessible for wheelchair users, but developments over the years has seen vast improvements to the location and access is in the form of the castle’s mobility vehicle which takes you right up to the fortress.

The Chill Factore in Manchester

With an accolade of winning Manchester Tourism’s ‘Access for All’ The Chill Factore is designed so that literally anyone even those with the most limited mobility can take part using their specially adapted equipment and specialist instructors.

Take a look at the infographic below for more ideas!  And if you know of anymore then please do add them in the comments below 🙂
