Beefeater Autumn / Winter Menu Review
I was invited on behalf of Beefeater to go along to my local establishment to try some of the latest offerings on the new Autumn/Winter menu.
In my case my nearest Beefeater was The Granary at Orton Wistow in Peterborough.
4 of us were dining on a Sunday lunchtime and although a Sunday roast is available we all chose meals off the standard menu.
Heading straight for main courses, we ordered Smoky Paprika Chicken, Veg-Out Burger and from the childrens menu – 2 Mr Messy’s Spaghetti Bolognese.
I chose the smoky paprika chicken dish came with chunky triple cooked chip, coleslaw and a side salad. Portion size was good and the chicken was tasty, for me personally I should have opted for the matchstick fries instead of the chunky chips as I find them less filling, I actually struggled to finish the chips. Overall the dish was tasty.
Next up, my Mum ordered the veg-out burger, which again was a good-sized dish. This consisted of quorn burger with Monterey Jack cheese, chargrilled red pepper, creamy ranch dressing and smoky tomato sauce, served with a portion of skinny fries and coleslaw.
Both the boys opted for the Spaghetti Bolognese after much deliberation over the kids menu, with the oldest declaring there’s too much good food to choose from!
The spaghetti bolognese was an adequate portion for two growing boys, and is served with garlic bread and veggie sticks.
For dessert, it was a tough decision but in the end we ordered sticky toffee pudding, plum tarte tatin, 2 mini chocolate challenges off the kids menu.
The sticky toffee pudding along with the plum tarte tatin are served with either a choice of ice cream, custard or clotted cream and both plates were wiped clean within minutes!
The mini chocolate challenge dessert off the kids menu consisted of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and a bowl of brownie squares and marshmallows and looked very tempting to even an adult!
For more details on the menu choices at The Granary, this is the page to look and you can navigate your way around all the different menus on offer. I was most impressed by the kids menu and all the different combinations you could have. Also, having the pictures of the dishes on the menu really helps visualise what you might like to order.
Beefeater have many different locations to choose from and it’s more than likely that you’ll find one in close proximity.
It’s also worth noting that Beefeater offer a loyalty reward scheme, you sign up and you basically accumulate points for every visit you make and then you convert those points into things like a bottle of wine or free desserts.
Overall Beefeater is a family friendly restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and offers great value for money. For 4 main courses and 4 desserts the bill came to a little over £50.
