Four essential parenting gadgets – GP

Today, I have a guest post on essential parenting gadgets for new parents…I definitely like the idea of the heat sensitive onesie!

If you’ve just become the proud parent of a newborn, getting all of the right pieces of kit together to cope with life as mum or dad can be a bit overwhelming.

And though there are no hard and fast rules about what exact equipment you’ll need to cope with a tiny person, here are four handy gadgets that no parent should be without.

1. Coffee machine

First and most important of all is a good quality Tassimo coffee machine. The chances are that during the first few months – or possibly years – of your child’s life. You’re going to be pretty much permanently sleep deprived, so having a piping hot, delicious coffee waiting for you every morning is going to make the world of difference.

2. Heat sensitive onesie

One of the biggest new innovations in the world of gadgetry is technology that you can wear. Just look at the latest Google glasses or smart watches to see for yourself!

This latest invention is a onesie that changes colour when your child has a temperature, taking the guesswork out of deciding if they’re ill and helping you to get them treated fast.
3. Baby crying analyser

As a new parent, trying to work out what the different cries your child makes mean is almost impossible. Luckily, some clever inventors have come up with a device that analyses it for you so you don’t have to spend hours changing nappies, feeding and burping.

The device simply calculates the pitch of the child’s cry and then translates it into grownup language. A lifesaver for any busy parent.

4. Digital camera

Last but certainly not least, one of the most essential gadgets you’ll need as a new parent is a digital camera. Though it may not feel like it now, your child will be all grown up before you know it, so make sure that you snap away while they’re small so that you’ve got photographs to treasure forever.

Building up your arsenal of parent gadgets will not only help you to cope with this magical – and sometime stressful – time, it will help prepare you even better for when the next one comes a long, so that you can be super parents to all of your future children.
