Online Habits
Have you ever looked into your own online habits? I recently have felt that I spend far too much time online, this can be checking social media networks like Facebook, Twitter and Google +, but also just looking at random online shops…. A favourite past-time for me is selecting items to buy and placing them in my checkout basket, this can take up to an hour perhaps and then simply delete the basket!…pointless right? I guess the reason I do that is it feels like I’m fulfilling my desire to shop and spend money without actually spending a penny!
I also do useful things online like food shopping, I swear by doing the weekly food shopping online as it tends to saves us money, we only buy things we actually need rather than those things you don’t!
Part of my daily job requires me to be online for the majority of the day, this does mean that I’m checking my social channels a lot more than I would probably do so. I would say that I do a status update on Facebook at least once a day and I’m regularly posting pictures and sharing news stories.
According to an online survey discussing the nations online habits, it seems that the internet dominates quite a few lives. A massive 86% use the internet to catch up on daily news.
Looking at social media, by far the most popular was Facebook with 63% with Twitter at 30% and trailing behind Google + at 11%…this surprised me somewhat as I’m a big fan of Google +.
According to this article in the Guardian, 36 million Brits us the internet everyday…it’s hard to imagine what life was like before the internet! I can remember being in my later years at school and having small access to the internet was a novelty…but oh my word, can you remember how long it took to load up?!
So, how do you spend your time on the web?
