Summer Holiday Plans

The summer holidays are rapidly approaching here in the UK and a part of me is relieved, no more alarm wake up calls (beauty of working from home!) yet dreading it also as I will have 2 boys who refuse outright to participate in any summer holiday camp or club!  It doesn’t help that as Tyler is still 4, most of the clubs in the area are for ages 5+, maybe if he was old enough, they’d both go to the club?? Who knows, we can test that one in October half-term when he’s 5 perhaps!

To kick the summer holidays off we’re heading off on holiday!  We’re off to a luxury hotel in Worcestershire that’s specifically designed and tailored for families in mind, which should be ace…it’s always a worry when taking the kids to hotels that the kids may be causing too much noise or disturbance if on holiday, yet here we won’t have to worry as it’s to be expected!  And then we’re moving on to Wales, Borth to be exact.  We went there last year and had a great time, the weather was superb (which always helps!) and was completely bowled over by the Welsh seaside.  Although this year we’re only going for 5 days, so plan to mainly spend it at the beach in and around the rockpools looking for little fish, shrimp and of course crabs and also plan to go to the local animal park in Borth where you can hand feed the animals.

For the rest of the holiday, it will be a case of trying to entertain the kids enough so that I can still get on and do some work with little disturbance!  The benefit of the job I do is that it’s pretty flexible, so if I wanted to take the kids out for the afternoon then I can just make the time up either later on in the day or over the weekend.

I also rely on my mum to help out for a few days in the week to help break it up and to take the boys out, she may (if we’re lucky!) have them over for a sleep over 🙂

What are your summer holiday plans?
