Tips On How To Keep The Summer Going
As we move into Autumn with the darker mornings and darker evenings already making their way and slowly everyone starts to go into hibernation, I was asked my Inntravel on tips on how to keep the summer going through these colder months…
Look at holiday brochures! Even if it’s just to look and admire the white sands or if you’re looking at actually booking a holiday in the winter to say somewhere like the Canary Islands which is always a favourite winter destination for Brits. There’s something about the promise of hot weather and the beach that’s sure to brighten the mood!
Keep things closer to home, the first thing that came to mind for me was if you want that sub-tropical paradise feeling then get yourself to one of the Center Parcs resorts for the day (or even a long weekend) and lounge in their sub-tropical swimming pool area! Having went here for my birthday in January the swimming pool area was complete bliss 🙂
Keeping things closer to home still and perhaps more at a budget level, you could create an indoor space (if you have the room) and convert a room into a beach theme, complete with sandpit and sandcastles.
Whack the heating up for an hour or so and get building, you must of course combine this with sandy sandwiches and ice-creams.
Of course there’s not much we can do about the weather, but we do get some fine weather in Autumn, so make the most of the sunny days and get out even if it’s just for a walk or to the park. On a lovely sunny day and with a little exercise to keep you warm you’ll be thinking its summer time all over again!
If you have children, picnics are always are favourite. Grab your blanket and set up in your living room, with all the things you would normally have in your picnic. Combine this with some games you would normally play too (you would probably need to downscale here if you normally play football or cricket!).
Something you can do is add bright colours to your home, a bright garland to hang in your kitchen can instantly lift and make everything seem brighter. Flowers are a great way to keep the summer going and with the internet now you can buy your favourite summertime flowers all through the year.
These are my tips, what would you do to #keepsummergoing?
