Silverstone Lap of Lights
Silverstone Lap of Lights is a great alternative Christmas day out and will be loved by all the family. Having the opportunity to drive your own car around the Silverstone track (albeit at around 5mph) is a great thing on its own, but tied in with a spectacular light show which changes every year is a fantastic experience.
What’s more you can take advantage of other attractions whilst there, grab some food and take in the atmosphere of live music and activities.
For 2021, the Silverstone Lap of Lights experience took you on a tour around the globe, with different car themed pop ups along the way. The laser show on the straight was phenomenal and makes you feel like you were in a tunnel at times.
Of course Santa is on hand for a beep and wave drive by!
Inside The Lodge, you can take in the Christmassy feel, try your hand at axe throwing, curling and F1 simulator. All incur a small fee. Axe throwing was priced at £8pp and Curling £5pp. Food options were good and though tasted nice, maybe a little on the expensive side.
Down on the Formula 1 pit lane you could find a real open-air ice skating rink with refreshments available in this area too. The ice skating is priced from £8-£14.
All in all, the Silverstone Lap of Lights is a fun way to spend a good few hours and fun for all the family.
Tickets are from £30 per car and can be purchased on the Silverstone website.
